Our primary goal is to STOP Wal-Mart from doing business ANYWHERE in the City of Ventura.

These individuals and organizations come from all walks of life and all sides of the spectrum.  We are conservatives, republicans, democrats, liberals, local business owners, residents, parents, teachers, employers and workers, and the list goes on and on.  We all have come to realize that if we allow Wal-Mart to be built in the City of Ventura it will forever impact our community with unmitigatable traffic, blight caused by small business being run out of town, and an influx of low paying jobs which in turn only hurts our local economy over the long run.

Political leaders who are inclined to think and believe in immediate terms understandably see a desperately and needed tax base coming from a potential new big box retailer such as Wal-Mart, but we must ask them:  at what cost to our community’s future?  To our children’s future? 

Studies have shown that Wal-Mart won’t bring in additional tax revenue;  it will only take away tax revenue from existing local businesses and will mostly likely not generate any additional tax revenue for the city.
