The Stop Wal-Mart Coalition is a group of concerned citizens, business leaders, religious leaders, and community activists all working together for one goal, to STOP Wal-Mart from being built on Victoria Avenue.
These individuals and organizations come from all sides of the spectrum, Republicans, Democrats, Conservatives, Liberals, Businesses, Residents, Parents, Teachers, Employers and Workers the list goes on and on. They have all come to realize that if we allow Wal-Mart to be built at the K-mart site on Victoria Avenue, it will forever impact our community with unmitigatable traffic, blight caused by small business being run out of town and an influx of low paying jobs hurting our economy over the long run.
Political leaders who are inclined to think in immediate terms understandably see a desperately needed tax base coming from a potential new Wal-Mart, but we must ask at what cost to our future? To our children's future?
